My Two Brothers
About a week or so ago, I showed a friend of mine the “Are You Down” music video, needless to say, they we impressed and we’re considering me to work on their next music video. They asked me if that was RKZ or Rax and they commented on how I’m always sharing their stuff and promoting them. It came with the edge of cynicism, like I’ll only promote them and no-one else.
They’re not wrong either. I only work with RKZ and Raxstar, not only because we all share a close friendship outside of our professional stead, but because we always remain loyal to one another. There is no substitute for loyalty. You’d think with all the people you come across and the experiences that everyone has collectively gathered that basic sense would dictate to us that we shouldn’t be fuckheads to one another.
It’s a bit obvious to say, but this isn’t the case. More often than not, the person you’re talking to is probably a fuckboy. Simply because they are out for one thing, themselves. There’s nothing wrong in that, don’t get me wrong. We all deserve something. However it comes at the cost of our own integrity and I’d be pretty safe to say that my two friends and I would never compromise that for anything.
This is why our working relationships work. We have our disputes over things, as with anything, however the mutual respect and understanding of the others skill, talent and craft lets us shut the fuck up and understand that we have to humble ourselves amongst each other, because ego and pride does not count for anything between us.
We’ve each made our own small marks on the world and as each project comes to a close, we conquer more across the landscape we fight our war on. With each step, we make it together as a unit, as a team, as brothers.
No journey comes without darkness, without the shadows that cover us and bring us to a place that we feel we can’t get out of. I know I’ve had my fair share of moments where hope was lost. Fear of failure and uncertainty of results got the better of me. However with the help of these two fine gentlemen, I know that the future is ours and they’ll be there to pull me out of the shadows of my own creation.
Loyalty is free. Through the years I’ve been doing my work, they’ve supported me and vice versa. This has been the case, is the case and will always be the case.
I’m more than happy for others to join me in the journey of life, the premise of everything I’ve been doing for two years on a daily basis, but it requires that you bring a purpose, that retain loyalty, that no matter what, you give the best you can to those who’ll give you the best they can.
So this ones for RKZ and Rax, so long as you Stare Into The Sun, your shadows will fall behind you.

It’s people like these who make you believe that there’s always those few people (you can only count them with one hand)...

Some of us are lucky to find people with whom we can share our true selves with. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
